ABOUT NQC
The National Quartet Convention (NQC) is an annual gathering of Southern Gospel quartets and musicians. It is held at the Leconte Center in Pigeon Forge, TN. The first National Quartet Convention was held in 1957. J. D. Sumner, Cecil Blackwood and James Blackwood of The Blackwood Brothers were the founders of the famous National Quartet Convention formerly held in Memphis, Tennessee. The National Quartet Convention featured all the major gospel groups at a three-day event at the Ellis Auditorium in Memphis. After the first couple of years, the NQC was moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1959 and Atlanta, Georgia in 1960. It returned to Memphis in 1961 and was drawing annual crowds of 20,000 by the mid-1960s. Sumner bought the convention in 1971 and moved it to Nashville, Tennessee in 1972, where it remained until 1993. After 1993, it was moved to a new home, Louisville, Kentucky. In 2014 the convention moved to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which is the home of the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame.

SEP 19 WELCOME DAKOTA YORK
It is with great excitement after the last several weeks of prayer, we can officially announce that Dakota York will be coming on board as our product manager.
Dakota is no stranger to the group as she has been a friend for years in ministry. With a love for God and a heart for people, Dakota has found herself loving the mission field as she has traveled to various places in the world helping many during tragedies and sharing the love of Jesus to those she came in contact with. She also is involved with her local church doing a great work to build the Kingdom of God.
Dakota will be serving in the position of Product Manager, but make no mistake that she is a jack of all trades. “As Cameran and myself were looking not only for a product manager but also someone to help Justin with our (photography/media) and with Jaron and the new baby coming in December, one day Dakota walked in the room and it was an instant obvious for us” says group leader Gabriel.
Over the last several weeks she has traveled with the group as she tried us out and we tried her out and needless to say there was an instant connection. Everyone in the group loves her and traveling with her feels like it has always been.
As we continue to go after the world for Jesus together, make sure to say hey to her at one of our concerts and comment below as you help us welcome Dakota to the King’s Highway family!
